Yellowbird Enterprises – Accessible Transport with Heart & Skill

Looking for NDIS-funded transport that’s not just safe and reliable, but also supported by skilled care?
We are NOT a taxi. Minimum 2hr time booking plus kms

At Yellowbird Enterprises, we offer wheelchair-accessible transport and flexible travel options to suit your needs – whether you're heading to an appointment, a concert, the bush, the beach, or your short-term respite stay.

Our wheelchair-accessible bus is currently based in Telarah, but it travels wherever it’s needed – including:
• Maitland
• Port Stephens
• Mid Coast
• Dungog
• And surrounding regions

Seating configuration:
• 5 very comfortable seats in the rear
• 1 wheelchair space (or 2 extra seats if wheelchair space isn’t needed)
• 1 front passenger seat

We offer:
• Transport with support
• Group transport with cost apportioning
• Toyota Prado option for non-wheelchair users
• Transport to anything including events, appointments, or respite stays
• NDIS billing flexibility – use Core (Daily Assistance or Transport) or Capacity Building budgets

Accessible Transport With Qualified SupportOur drivers are more than just a driver – they’re a Support Worker. That means your journey is supported by someone who truly understands mobility, care, and comfort.
Your accessible transport booking secures a minimum of 2 hours, covering the professional support time required for your trip. Depending on how far you are from our base, this may include the time it takes for our staff to travel to you and return to base after drop‑off. Kilometres are billed separately at $4 per km travelled.
When you engage Yellowbird, you are engaging a support service, not a taxi booking. Our qualified support staff drive our accessible vehicles, safely load and unload mobility equipment, assist you into and out of the vehicle, and support you into the location you need to reach. We are not a point‑to‑point taxi service. We are a disability support provider offering participants reliable, accessible wheelchair transport designed to help you get where you need to go with the right support around you.
If you already need a community access provider to help you get out and about, or a daily support provider to take you to appointments, it makes sense to choose a provider who can deliver the support and the transport—without relying on unpredictable taxi services.
The NDIS line item used will depend on your plan and the purpose of the trip. Your booking may be billed from your Transport, Daily Activities, or Social & Community Participation budget, depending on how your plan is structured.
Your own support worker or a family member who needs to attend with you is welcome to travel in the bus.

'Published service prices'  Yellowbird charge at the price limit in the NDIS Support Catalogue for all supports.
The billable NDIS line item for your accessible transport booking will depend on how your plan is structured and which budget your travel relates to. Depending on your goals and the purpose of the trip, charges may be allocated from your Transport budget, Daily Activities, or Social & Community Participation budget.

This ensures your booking is billed in line with NDIS rules and the intent of your plan, while still recognising that you are engaging a support service with qualified staff, not a point‑to‑point taxi.
